Wig care and maintenance

You will receive your wig in a box with silk fabric. Comb and wig caps are included (1 pack with 2 caps).

We recommend that you store your wig in our wig box, but it’s important that you do not remove the paper inside the wig, since it’s contributing to the wig maintaining its shape and style. The best option would be to store the wig on a mannequin head to prevent any unnecessary wig damage to the lace or the silk top.

Styling

In case you’ve purchased a lace front wig and you intend to cut off the lace, make sure to be very careful and have at least 1 cm of spare space. Guide on how to cut a lace front wig.

Please note: We do not take any responsibility for any missed cuts or mistakes. We offer a precut service for free. Contact us if that is something you prefer.

If you style your wig, use the lowest temperature settings on your styling tools along with a heat protection spray. We recommend a maximum of 200 Celcius to prolong the lifespan of the wig.

● Do not iron your hair after applying oil, it will fry your hair!

● Do not sleep, bath, swim or sunbath with your wig.

Dying and coloring your wig is involved with significant risks and you might end up causing irreversible damage to your wig. Therefore, we recommend that you reach out to a professional. Please note: We do not take responsibility for any wig damage caused by coloring. This also includes if the coloring does not match the desired outcome.

How to wash your wig

We recommend that you wash your wig occasionally, when you feel that it's starting to lose its softness and shine. Below you’ll find our step-by-step guide on how to wash you wig:

  1. Brush your wig carefully with the comb that is included in the box. Start brushing from the ends and work towards the roots to minimize shedding and tangling.

  2. Please do not use shampoo on our hair, since shampoo can dry out the hair. Instead, use a sulphate free shampoo on the lace and inside the wig, then rinse the shampoo out.

  3. Use a generous amount of conditioner. Leave the conditioner in the hair for approximately 5 minutes or a bit longer. Do NOT put conditioner on the scalp or the roots since it can cause the wig to shed. We recommend that you use Redken ‘All Soft Mega Curls Conditioner’, since it is very moisturizing for the hair.

  4. When rinsing and conditioning, be aware that you should hold the wig at its scalp. This makes the water run in the same direction as the hair.

  5. Rinse your wig gently in lukewarm water. Be thorough and do not rub it!

  6. Rinse with lukewarm water, proceed by turning the water cold for the last 10 seconds if you want extra shine.

  7. Place your wig on a towel and dab it gently. Do not wring the hair!

  8. Please do not air-dry our wigs. Instead, we highly recommend that you use a very generous amount of the product ‘WOW Dream Coat - Extra Strength’ and blow-dry with high speed and high heat while combing.

We highly recommend that you get a mannequin head on a tripod. That way you can easily style and blow-dry the right way without getting exhausted.
